Why Joe Delfgauw Started Cape Coral Reviewed

Hey guys, Joe Delfgauw here.

I am a full-time Cape Coral resident, and I can honestly say this is the first place I have ever lived where I actually want to stay permanently. I am originally from Michigan, and I have lived in a lot of different places over my 55 years, but Cape Coral is different.

This is home. This is where my wife and I decided we want to stay, build, live, and be part of the community.

It is also the first time in my life that I have really wanted to build local businesses. Most of my businesses over the years have been national or even international – online businesses, lead generation, job websites, education websites, real estate websites, credit websites, and banking-related websites. Most of what I have done has been built around national campaigns because that is where things can scale.

But when my wife and I decided Cape Coral was going to be home full-time, my focus started changing. I wanted to build things here. Local businesses that actually serve people in this community.

That is one of the reasons I started Cape Coral Lawn Care. Today, we have over 300 customers, and I am proud of the reputation we are building. We are growing fast, and we are trying to become one of the most reliable lawn care companies in Cape Coral.

And yes, shameless promotion, if you are looking for lawn care in Cape Coral, we would be happy to help.

But Cape Coral Lawn Care was only part of the bigger picture. I also started Cape Coral Reviewed because I saw a problem.

I have a lot of experience with Facebook groups and own more than 175 of them. Some are for lead generation. Some are for very specific businesses, communities, or purposes. So I understand how groups work. I understand what makes them valuable. And I definitely understand what ruins them.

When I looked around at a lot of the Cape Coral groups, I kept seeing the same thing: junk, garbage, complaining, and arguments.

Every day, there are posts like, “I wish people in Cape Coral knew how to drive,” “Turn your music down,” “Stop doing fireworks,” “Who parked like this?” or “Why is everyone here so rude?”

Now listen, some of those posts are legitimate. Some of them may even be helpful. But a lot of the time, they just create chaos. Someone makes a post, someone else makes a smart comment, then someone else wants to argue. Before you know it, the whole thing turns into the same nonsense you see everywhere else online.

That is not what I wanted to build.

So Cape Coral Reviewed is pretty simple. If you want to find a highly rated business in Cape Coral, come to Cape Coral Reviewed. If you are looking for a contractor, baker, pet sitter, aesthetician, lawn care company, home improvement company, builder, restaurant, or local service provider, come ask the question.

The way I look at it, the group has two jobs. First, help Cape Coral residents find legitimate local businesses. Second, help good Cape Coral businesses get exposure and connect with people who actually need them.

As of May 2026, the group has about 10,000 members. By the end of the year, our goal is 100,000. But I do not want another junk Facebook group with a bunch of noise.

We only want Cape Coral residents. We only want Cape Coral businesses. And we review businesses before allowing them into the group.

If you are a business owner and you want to post, get exposure, and generate business, great. We want good local businesses in the group. But you need to do good business. You need to have happy customers and you need to have reviews. You need to operate the right way.

The group is free for businesses to join, but we also have small business packages for people who want more exposure through social media, featured content, videos, or Cape Coral Reviewed membership options.

But the point is not to spam people. The point is not to let every random business blast promotions all day. The point is to create a real local resource.

No riffraff, stupid comments, stupid posts, or unproductive nonsense.

Just Cape Coral residents looking for information and legitimate Cape Coral businesses that are worth recommending.

That is why I started Cape Coral Reviewed. I wanted to build a place where people could ask real questions and get real recommendations without digging through all the drama.

Cape Coral is growing fast. There are a lot of good people here. There are a lot of good businesses here. And there are a lot of residents who need reliable recommendations.

That is really what I am trying to do with Cape Coral Reviewed.

Cleaner group. Better information. Less nonsense.

That is the goal.
