El Patio Peruvian Restaurant on Del Prado Reviewed – A Must-Try in Cape Coral

Del Prado Boulevard is packed with dining options, but every so often, you find a restaurant that stands out for all the right reasons. El Patio Peruvian Restaurant in Cape Coral is one of those places — and once you experience it, you’ll understand why it deserves a spot on your must-try list.

Located directly across from Cape Coral Hospital, El Patio brings authentic Peruvian food, handcrafted cocktails, and genuine hospitality together under one roof. This isn’t fast food or watered-down flavors — it’s real, thoughtfully prepared Peruvian cuisine made with pride.

Start with Peruvian Cocktails You Can’t Skip

Before the food even hit the table, it was clear El Patio takes their drinks just as seriously as their kitchen. The Pisco Sour is an absolute must. Served ice cold and topped with a light sprinkle of cinnamon, it’s refreshing, bright, and perfectly balanced.

If you enjoy margaritas, this cocktail will feel familiar — fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and a smooth finish — but the star is Peruvian Pisco, a grape brandy distilled without aging. Traditional pisco sours are made with egg whites (sometimes substituted with chickpea water), giving the drink its signature silky texture. It’s authentic, well-executed, and the perfect way to start your meal.

We also loved seeing Cusqueña on the menu — a premium Peruvian golden lager brewed in Cusco since 1911. Offering authentic beer matters, and El Patio gets it right.

Classic Peruvian Appetizers with Big Flavor

We started with the A La Huancaína potatoes, a staple of Peruvian cuisine. The potatoes were tender, light, and served at room temperature, generously coated in a creamy, milky yellow-orange cheese sauce. Rich without being heavy, this appetizer delivers comfort and flavor in every bite — and it sets the tone for what’s to come.

A Ceviche Menu You Shouldn’t Skip

One section of the menu that deserves special attention is the ceviche selection. El Patio offers a variety of ceviches, and it’s clear this is an area they take pride in. After some discussion, Edgard and I agreed on the shrimp ceviche, and it delivered exactly what great ceviche should.

The shrimp was tender and perfectly marinated, with bright citrus flavors that were clean, fresh, and well balanced. Refreshing and vibrant, this dish wakes up your palate and highlights why Peruvian cuisine is so celebrated. If you’re a ceviche lover — or even ceviche-curious — this menu section alone makes El Patio worth the visit.

For our main dishes, El Patio delivered across the board.

The Tallarines Verdes — Peruvian green pesto noodles — were vibrant, fresh, and packed with herbaceous flavor. We substituted the chicken with steak topped with house-made chimichurri, and it was the right call. The thin skirt steak was incredibly tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly — it barely required a butter knife. The chimichurri added depth and brightness that paired beautifully with the pesto.

Edgard ordered the Lomo Saltado, one of the most iconic Peruvian dishes. Juicy tenderloin was sautéed with onions and tomatoes and served alongside white rice and fries. It’s hearty, comforting, and executed exactly as it should be.

Curious to explore more, we added a side of Peruvian fried rice and Choclo — Peruvian corn. The corn was golden, slightly salty, and served with a bold green spicy sauce that added a punch of flavor and heat.

Every dish showcased bold, fresh flavors and careful preparation. The meats were tender and juicy, the ingredients tasted fresh, and nothing felt rushed or overlooked.
