Front Porch Social has been on my radar ever since I fell for its sister spot, The Jungle Bird. Located in Cape Coral, this cocktail bar and restaurant combines craft drinks, shareable small plates, and a stylish-but-welcoming atmosphere. What I thought would be a quick lunch turned into a two-hour graze through the menu—and I could’ve happily stayed longer.
The Vibe
Inside, Front Porch Social feels both chic and intimate. Deep green walls, gold and wood accents add a poised touch. Plush black leather couches paired with low tables are clearly designed for social circles, while the sleek 12-seat bar offers a more up-close experience with the bartenders. One detail I loved: there are no TVs inside, which keeps the focus on conversation—a win for date nights or laid-back gatherings. For those who do want to catch a game, three TVs are mounted on the outdoor porch, offering the best of both worlds.
The Food
Front Porch Social’s menu focuses on shareable small plates designed to pair with cocktails. Presentation is clean and thoughtful, letting the food shine without being overdone.
We opted for the Front Porch Sampler, which gave us a taste of their best-sellers:
Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sliders – perfectly crispy, drizzled with just the right amount of heat.
Bacon Beef Sliders with Bacon Jam – juicy and indulgent, the jam added a smoky-sweet twist.
ZaZa Shrimp (5 pieces) – lightly fried and seasoned, gone in seconds.
Togarashi Seared Tuna – fresh and clean with a subtle spice kick.
Seasoned Fries – crunchy, piping hot, and seasoned well enough to stand on their own.
We couldn’t resist adding the Chimichurri Steak Tacos, which ended up being one of the highlights—tender steak, vibrant chimichurri, and warm tortillas that didn’t fall apart under pressure.
Other standouts we noted for next time (and highly recommended by our bartender, Lily) include the BBQ Burnt End Cannelloni, the Truffle Garlic Beignets, and the Hot Honey Sliders (already a fan favorite).
Dessert keeps things fun and adventurous, with three indulgent options:
Mixed Berry Beignets with Vanilla Ice Cream ($8)
Chocolate Beignets with Vanilla Ice Cream ($8)
Chocolate Overload Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream ($10)
Brunch at Front Porch Social
Brunch keeps things simple but memorable with a few standouts. The Southwest Breakfast Bowl ($14) layers potatoes, bacon, sausage, queso, salsa, and a fried egg with their ZaZa sauce, while the Veggie Bowl ($13) swaps in mushrooms, peppers, avocado, and hollandaise. The Breakfast Burrito is a hearty, all-in-one classic, and the Croissant French Toast Bites ($12)—sweet, airy, and drizzled with vanilla icing—are a must-order for the table.Weekend brunch shines here. Highlights:
The Bar
The cocktail menu is where Front Porch Social really shines. Much like The Jungle Bird, their drinks are served in whimsical glasses—think tiki mugs and even a Yoda cup for Star Wars fans.
The star of the show? The Front Porch Punches. These dangerously smooth drinks come in three rotating flavors (we tried the Strawberry & Rhubarb) and are capped at a two-drink limit for good reason: each one blends vodka, gin, rum, and tequila into a fruity concoction that masks just how strong they really are. Garnished with a heart-shaped curly straw, an umbrella, and a dendrobium orchid, they’re as fun to look at as they are to sip.
Beyond the punches, the menu features a mix of inventive cocktails made completely from scratch. It’s the kind of bar program where you can confidently tell the bartender your preferred flavors and trust them to whip up something unforgettable.
The Service
Lily, our bartender, made the entire experience. She was knowledgeable about both the menu and the cocktail list, quick to recommend house favorites, and genuinely enthusiastic about the new concept. Her suggestions (like the Cannelloni and the Truffle Beignets) will definitely bring us back for a second round.
Final Verdict
Front Porch Social is more than just a place to grab a drink—it’s a thoughtfully designed social spot with a strong food program to match its cocktails. The atmosphere is chic yet approachable, the food is crafted to share (without sacrificing flavor), and the drinks alone are worth the visit.
For me, this is a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 experience—perfect for date nights, small group hangouts, brunch with friends, or anyone who appreciates a cocktail-forward evening with bites that hold their own.
